Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Simple Ingredients Cream cheese, fresh strawberries, and strawberry jam. That's it!
- Easy Recipe This recipe is so easy, it only takes 5 minutes from start to finish! Let the cream cheese sit out at room temperature while you wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Then, just add all of the ingredients to a small food processor and blend!
- Healthy Fruit Dip Instead of loading this strawberry cream cheese dip with marshmallow fluff or heavy cream, I use cream cheese and fresh strawberries with a small amount of strawberry jam for a natural strawberry flavor and the perfect amount of sweetness.
- Kid-Approved Whether your kids are in elementary school or high school, they will love this dip!
- Party Dip While this dip is easy enough to make for a simple tasty treat on busy weekdays, it's also delicious and pretty enough to serve when hosting bridal showers, a baby shower, pool party, birthdays and more!
Dietitian Tip
Dips seem to have a magical way of leveling up whatever you decide to dip into it. Whether it's the flavor a dip adds or the act of dipping, if serving a dip helps my family eat more fruits and veggies, then I'm all in!
If nothing else, serving a delicious dip is a fun way to change up the way you serve various foods.
Ingredient Notes
- Strawberries Use fresh strawberries. They are naturally sweet and high in vitamin C, antioxidants, vitamins, manganese, folate, and fiber.
- Strawberry Fruit spread Used to add natural sweetness and smooth out the texture. Using fruit-based fruit spread with little added sugar will minimize added sugars. I use Small Batch Kitchen's Balsamic Strawberry Fruit Spread (not sponsored, it's just really good!) or Trader Joe's Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread in this recipe.
- Cream Cheese Use an 8-oz package of cream cheese, not a tub of it. Adds flavor and texture. Less-fat cream cheese and Neufchatel cheese are lower in saturated fat than regular cream cheese. They all work well in this recipe. Cream cheese contains about one gram of protein per tablespoon.

- Add softened cream cheese, washed strawberries, and strawberry fruit spread to a small food processor.
- Blend until a smooth and creamy consistency is reached.
How to This Serve Strawberry Fruit Dip
- Easy Dip Serve this as part of a veggie and fruit tray full of your favorite fruits or on the side with fruit kabobs or apple slices.
- Tea Sandwiches Make mini 'tea sandwiches' by spreading a thin layer of this yummy dip on a piece of whole grain bread. Sandwich it with a layer of thinly sliced strawberries or banana and a sprinkle with hemp hearts. Trim the crusts and cut into pieces.
- Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread Serve it as a strawberry cream cheese spread and top a piece of whole grain toast with it for breakfast.
Helpful Tips
- To increase the sweetness of this recipe, add more fruit spread or a small amount of maple syrup, not more strawberries. Adding more strawberries will water down the dip.
- To get chunks of strawberry in the dip, wait to add the strawberries. Once the cream cheese and fruit spread are blended well, add the strawberries. Then, pulse until desired consistency is reached.
- A hand mixer can be used in place of a food processor (just be sure the cream cheese has softened for at least 15 minutes before placing all of the ingredients into a medium bowl).
- There is no need to add lemon juice (or lemon zest) to this recipe.
Questions You May Have
Yes, as long as your kids won't mind a thinner dip.
Yes, absolutely. The biggest difference between jams, jellies, and preserves is how much fruit is used to process it. Using a thinner jam (like freezer jam) will produce a thinner dip.
Use what you have (and what your kids enjoy).
Yes! Store this creamy dip refrigerated in an airtight container for 3-5 days (unless the cream cheese expires before then).
