Chocolate overnight oats made with rolled oats, chia seeds, and chocolate milk is the simplest and most delicious breakfast for busy mornings. No cooking, no baking. Just stir, refrigerate, and serve. This has quickly become my daughter's favorite breakfast, and I really can't blame her!

I've been a dietitian for over 20 years and have 3 kids, but nothing motivated me more to spend the summer playing around with different ways to make super simple recipes for overnight oats that my kids will actually eat than knowing my oldest would soon be responsible for making her own meals in college, lol.
I figured if she liked them and could see how easy it is for me to make them, there would be a chance she'd actually make overnight oats herself. And guess what? Not only does she love them, but my middle schooler ended up noticing, so now she's been asking for overnight oats, too.
In fact, this chocolate overnight oats recipe was her idea & it's now her favorite. 😍

Why You'll Love Chocolate Overnight Oats
- Super Quick Only 3 ingredients and 3 minutes of prep time - doesn't get much better than this! You literally just stir everything together and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
- Super Simple Made with oats, chia seeds, and chocolate milk. That's it! No need to measure out cocoa powder, vanilla, and sweetener separately.
- High in Fiber 8 grams of fiber per serving, which just about meets a third of an adults' daily fiber needs.
Ingredient Notes

- Rolled Oats Use old fashioned rolled oats or sprouted rolled oats. Excellent source of fiber and protein.
- Chia Seeds Help to add a pudding-like texture to overnight oats. Good source of fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids.
- Chocolate Milk Good source of protein and calcium. Can use regular milk with cocoa powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt instead.
Dietitian Tip
While you can make overnight oats using cocoa powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and regular milk, the reality is that not everyone keeps all of these ingredients on hand. And, to top it off, if you have a skeptic in the family when it comes to trying new foods, knowing it's made with chocolate milk might help with the acceptance of it. 😉
