Try to keep the pieces of pineapple, mango, and bell pepper similar in size.
I cut the chunks of frozen fruit into small pieces while they are still frozen because I think it's easier. Then I let the small pieces of fruit finish defrosting before adding them in with the rest of the ingredients.
Adding too much salt will ruin the flavor completely.
This is a very sweet salsa. If you prefer more savory salsas, you might want to stick to more traditional tomato-based salsa recipes.
Fresh mango and fresh pineapple can be used instead of frozen, it will just take longer to peel and cut the fruit into small pieces.
Cherry tomatoes (quartered) can be used in place of red bell pepper.
If your kids are adventurous eaters and don't mind bold flavors, consider adding small pieces of red onion and / or jalapeño to the salsa.
For even more of a tropical flavor, sprinkle a small amount of Tajin in with the lime juice and salt.
If your kids prefer salsa to have a smooth texture, simply put the salsa in a food processor and blend to get a smooth consistency.
